My last post.

Well, I think today I have to talk to you about my experience with this language. I want to start saying I don't like to have to learn English, I mean, I like English, but I don't like to be forced to learn it. I don't agree with that vision which says you must learn English because it's the "Universal Language", that's a lie invented by the "gringos" haha.

Okay, I have to say I like English classes, well, not always, but I really enjoy the first part of the class, because I can joke in English (well, I try...), and it's okay, because I'm talking in English hahaha, so I think it's a funny way to learn. But  I don't like using the blog, it has been the boring part of classes for me. I hate to sit down in front of the computer and have to write in English about a topic. In fact, there were a lot of times that classes finished and I had a headache… Although that I like some of the topics, like "the movies" or "the books", I don't like to write about it in English.

When I hear myself speaking in English, I can realize how bad I do it haha. I think I have to improve my vocabulary, but above all, I think I have to improve a lot my pronunciation, when I hear myself in the videos we have had to record, I really feel shame about my pronunciation haha, well, I think the only way to improve this skill is just speaking more.

The only times I use English outside the classes are when I sing some song in English or when I'm playing some videogames in that language haha, but nowadays I'm a little out of gaming, so I'm learning just in classes.

Technology addiction

Today I'm going to talk about a piece of news which is connected with my area of studies. I decided to write about technology addiction, because I know it's very common and it happens a lot, even me haha.

The article began telling us, that all of us have suffering the effects of technology addiction sometimes. Remember when you needed to study, but suddenly you received a text message and you could't ignore it, so you stopped studying and read the message, and you do it again after two minutes, and then again and again. Maybe you don't see a problem here, but, a study of the University of Kent found every time we lose concentration, we re-read a portion of text before we can find the point where we were reading, and each interruption cause an increase of 17% in the total time we use to read the whole passage. An easy way to help to decrease the time we use for return to the point we were reading is to write a mark in that point, so we reduce in a 10% the time we use to return.

There'll always be distractions, but we can help ourselves to avoid these distractions, like turning off our phones or our computer. We also can do some concentration exercises using thought control to concentrate in an image for a period of time, and when we notice that we had lost concentration, we have to come back to the image as soon as we can.

So, be strong, you can... haha =)

El lado oscuro del corazón

Well, today I'm gonna talk you about a movie I enjoyed, so lets start. I wasn't sure about which movie to talk about, because I wanted to talk about three movies, but I chose this one I saw in my house because a good friend told me about; "El lado oscuro del corazón".
This is an Argentinian drama film by director Eliseo Subiela and starring Darío Grandinetti. It's about a bohemian poet, who is constantly visit by "the dead" (in a woman's body of course haha) and who is looking for a woman different to the rest, in his own words "a woman who can fly". I can't tell you more about it because I don't want to tell you the movie haha.
I like this movie because the script is based on Mario Benedetti, Juan Gelman and Oliverio Girondo's texts and it has a beautiful an amazing way to show us a story, and also because Mario Benedetti has a little participation seducing a woman in a bar, reciting a poem in german language haha, it's very funny.
My favourite part of this movie is when the main character meets with the "different" girl he was looking for in the beach, and they have a dialogue where every answer is Mario Benedetti's haikus, it's beautiful. Well, I love Benedetti as you can see, haha.

Politic

"... MI ABUELO ERA UN HOMBRE MUY VALIENTE
                                          SOLO LE TENÍA MIEDO A
LOS BOLUDOS. UN DÍA LE PREGUNTÉ:
                                                                               - ¿POR QUÉ? Y ME DIJO:
                                                                               - PORQUE SON MUCHOS, ¡NO HAY FORMA DE CUBRIR SEMEJANTE FRENTE!
POR TEMPRANO QUE TE LEVANTES, ADONDE VAYAS ¡YA ESTÁ LLENO DE
BOLUDOS! Y SON PELIGROSOS, PORQUE AL SER  MAYORÍA ELIGEN HASTA
                                                                               EL PRESIDENTE..."

Facundo Cabral

Well, I'm part of the 60% of people who didn't vote last elections, maybe because of lazy, yes, it's true, but because I have serious contradictions in my way to see the politic, too. By one side, I believe in a society where all the people could participate and all the voices should be listened, but, by other side, I think it's difficult to hear all the voices with respect and tolerance and accept the majority's opinions, because today the majority's opinion is easily influenced, and it can be awful, I mean, we (well, not me, but, I'm speaking for Chile haha) chose Sebastian Piñera as President haha, so, you can see how the majority's opinion can be a huge mistake sometimes. Well, sometimes I feel if I vote for another option, who is not the worst option, I will be voting for the "least of the evils" and I don't think it's right, so I prefer to don't vote.
As you can see, I have a lot of contradictions in my way to see the politic, but I think the greatest contradiction I have it's to believe a better world is possible, and, by the other side, to think that anything, whatever I do, can change. I mean, sometimes I think I can make changes working with the people, and strengthening myself and them, and creating a united voice together. But sometimes I feel the system will always find the way to manipulate all the information and defeats us.
Anyway, I still have hopes..
